The product life of the pigeon The pigeon has the long life of the productive period and works 5 years for females and seven years for males, so the owner of pigeons must get rid of part of the herd every year at 25% to get rid of unwanted, sick or old pairs or low output ones, the female pigeon lays from 2:3 eggs or each time a female pigeon matures at the age of 4 to 6 months; the incubation period is from 17 to 18 days, the period of egglaying cycles is 34 to 40 days, and the hatching rate is 83%. The adult pair of pigeons producing from 8:12 pair of squabs per year at average of 10 pairs; the squabs are sold after 30:45 days of hatching; its weight is approximately 350-450 g with empty vesicle.
