Important notes on wards and operation
The costs of constructing a chicken house are not included in this study.
The ward supplies such as watering cans, feeders, heaters, cooling and fans are not included.
This study is based on the daily price of broiler and feed chicks and the selling price of chickens on the same day This price is according to the stock exchange and varies daily.
Drug prices are determined according to the market price and differ from one company to another.
In the case of summer, heating is replaced by cooling, and the ward is equipped with this before the start of the cycle.
Proper disinfection of the ward and adherence to hygienic means in dealing saves part of the costs of medicines.
The type of feed should not be changed during the cycle.
The duration of the course is from 37 to 40 days.
The ward bedding must be a smooth and level concrete.
A drainage duct is made on the outside in the sides of the ward for hygiene.
There must be a place for disinfection at the entrance to the ward, and this is very necessary, as well as a room for feeding.
It is preferable that at the entrance to the ward there is a room for the worker to monitor, in the large closed wards.
The width of the ward may not be more than 12 meters to ensure the quality of ventilation, whether it is closed or open.
An electric generator must be provided to ensure electricity on a continuous basis, and this is very necessary when constructing the ward. Its power is not less than 15 kv, and no cycle is made until after the generator is present and tested so that it works automatically in the event of a government power outage.
Chickens are to drink pure, salt-free water with no more than 300 parts per million salts.
A disinfection basin must be made before entering the chicken ward, preferably before the external gate leading directly to the ward.
